A more soothing form of purple, "mauve" is a paler, less saturated cousin of the royal  hue.  It's named after the mallow flower and the word was first used in 1796.  Indeed, this arrangement is all about mauve, and has the historical and emotional depth appropriate for such a storied colour; it features 5 white Duchess roses, 2 David Austin roses, preserved gunny eucalyptus, bunny tails and baby's breath tinted mauve, purple statice and white mini pampas.
